Environment

The European Power Tool Association (EPTA) is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our industry. EPTA recognises the economic, environmental and social benefits that can be achieved by well managed, sustainable development and EPTA members take environmental factors into account throughout all stages of the product life cycle i.e. design, sourcing, manufacture, use and final disposal of our products.

EPTA members invest significant resources in understanding and reducing the environmental footprint of their products throughout their life cycle. EPTA has contributed to a full Life Cycle Analysis of a corded and cordless drill to enhance our understanding of the relationship between the economic, environmental and social impacts of our products. This is helping member companies to design, manufacture and distribute products and services in such a way that both protects our environment and provides our customers with the benefits of sustainable products.

EPTA monitors and implements all European legislation relating to our products by defining ground breaking processes to ensure that the principle of sustainable development is given effect in all our power tools. This is done through the practical application of sustainable management principles.

EPTA pro-actively engages with European policy makers and the legislature to understand the aspirations of European society. We seek to contribute constructively to the development of environmental policy and law so that European objectives are attained while enabling the European power tool industry to be globally competitive.
