Welcome
EPTA – The
European
Power
Tool
Association was formed in 1984 to represent the interests of European power tool manufacturers. Its objectives include:
- preserve free and fair competition;
- ensure the exchange of technical, economic and environmental data among its members;
- foster co-operation with the European authorities and other entities in order to represent and promote its members’ interests;
- negotiate and implement voluntary agreements with the EU and/or Member States.
Power tools are used both by skilled tradesmen and consumers enjoying DIY (Do-It-Yourself). The industry’s annual turnover in power tools is around €3.1bn. The companies represented by EPTA – many of which are SMEs – represent ca. 17.000 employees in Europe, including Central and Eastern Europe.
EPTA member companies have manufacturing, marketing, distribution and R&D facilities throughout the enlarged European Union. EPTA members contribute directly to the competitiveness of the European economy as well as to employment.
